
The University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka has decided to suspend all new Art External Degree entries in Sri Lankan universities.
Professor Sampath Amarasinghe, chairman of the University Grants Commission, said the new registrations had been suspended to review the curriculum and implement the new curriculum.
He also said that a committee of experts had been appointed for this.
He said new curriculums would be introduced targeting the industry.
He also said he plans to start new registration again after the new curriculums are prepared.
The University Grants Commissioner has said that a circular to this effect has been sent to the universities. Still, it not yet available to the universities.
